Requirements:

Elmer is written in Python and C and is currently supported on many different flavors of UNIX, including Sun Solaris, HP-UX, and Linux, as well as on Windows using the mingw32 (gcc) compiler. Other platforms/compilers may work too, but have not been verified. If building an Elmer distribution, a Python installation with the distutils package, a Tcl installation (8.0 or higher), and a C compiler are required. If the elmer "-frozen" option is needed, the Python freeze utility must also be installed.
